For most of us, balancing professional and personal lives is a common challenge. Raising a young child, managing a home renovation project pre-pandemic and having this stalled throughout the pandemic . . . add a new job and you’ve got full days and measurable stress levels. Not many of us would have added training for the Multisports World Championships to the schedule.
But this is exactly what C&R Software Regional Sales Director Richard Drake did at the beginning of the year.
Having qualified in 2022, Richard joins an elite group of his age-range qualifiers from Spain, United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Mexico, Italy, New Zealand and other countries in Ibiza, Spain for the Sprint Duathlon – 5k run, 20k bike ride and a final 2.5k run – this Saturday. The field is 45 competitors strong, and he’s ready.
“It’s an immense feeling of pride to represent your country at an event like this,” says Drake. “It’s about doing your best, but it’s also about recognizing the spirit and realities of the human condition. We’re all coming back from a stressful couple of years. I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces and enjoying the camaraderie that these events always have. All the different nations and their age-group teams generate a fantastic atmosphere together, especially on race day.”
